Not everyone has the same starting position in life and Kubík's was certainly not easy. Kubík was born prematurely at 32 weeks of pregnancy by acute caesarean section and since birth he has suffered from spastic central diparesis.
From the beginning it was not at all certain whether Kubík would ever walk on his own.
However, thanks to special rehabilitation exercises, he is making great progress and is now able to move around the room just holding onto furniture.
Our story could end with this positive news, but the reality is more complicated.
Unfortunately, the exercises that Kubík needs, which he takes up to three times a week, are not even partially covered by health insurance. All the costs must be borne by his family.
We decided not to let them do it and literally ran off the prepaid rehabilitation exercises for Kubík.
During our traditional sports challenge, we covered more than 2700 km in one month. In total, we raised CZK 55,416 for Kubík .
Through a public collection at the Donium, people then raised an incredible CZK 122 445.
