Job detail

Systems Engineer - Hydraulics & Pneumatics

In collaboration with Tatra Defence Vehicle, we are launching the development of a new generation of heavy off-road vehicles weighing over 30 metric tons. We are not looking for a designer of individual parts or a narrow specialist in brakes. We are looking for someone who thinks of the vehicle as a functional whole—someone who understands both hydraulics and pneumatics, grasps the interconnections between systems, and can design how they function within the entire platform.

What specifically will you be dealing with:

  • Analysis of existing systems and their integration into the next-generation vehicle
  • Design of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Brake Systems — Overall Concept, Not Individual Components
  • Creating Technical Diagrams in the EPLAN Fluid Environment
  • Technical Calculations and System Sizing — Pressure Drops, Flow Rates, Friction Forces, Responses
  • Selection and integration of components — valves, pumps, compressors, valve blocks, brake components
  • Collaboration with design teams on the integration of systems into vehicles (Siemens NX CAD environment)
  • Prototype development — collaboration with production, functional verification, participation in testing

What you need to know:

  • Experience in the system design of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits—for trucks, construction and agricultural equipment, and special-purpose machinery
  • The ability to think of a vehicle as a whole—the connections between systems, not isolated components
  • University degree in mechanical engineering — transportation engineering, hydraulics/pneumatics, applied mechanics, fluid mechanisms
  • Proficiency in technical calculations and the sizing of fluid systems
  • Czech at a native-speaker level — we conduct the project strictly in Czech
  • Advantage: Experience with EPLAN Fluid (if not, we'll provide training)
  • Advantage: Siemens NX (CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor — we consider these fully relevant; we'll help you with NX)
  • Advantage: Experience with braking systems for heavy-duty vehicles (ECE R13, EBS/ABS)

Why choose us:

  • A new technical concept—not maintenance or minor adjustments—it’s being built from the ground up
  • You will have a significant impact on the vehicle's final architecture and the selection of components
  • You'll handle everything from the initial designs through prototyping to real-world testing
  • A Real Partner with a Real Project

We are looking for someone:

  • Those who can view a vehicle as a system, not as the sum of its parts
  • Who wants to take a technical concept all the way from concept to prototype to validation?
  • Anyone who isn't afraid to take responsibility for the architecture as a whole, not just for individual drawings
  • People who don't mind combining work on schematics with prototyping and testing
