ADAS/Autonomous Driving Systems Engineer

Would you like to be responsible for the system design of autonomous driving features for an off-road vehicle—from requirements through architecture to testing at the test track? We’re looking for a systems engineer who will serve as the link between software, hardware, and testing during the development of autonomous driving features for our client—Tatra Defense Vehicle. Specifically, you’ll be designing features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic braking in the event of an imminent collision, and lane-keeping assistance.

What specifically will you be dealing with:

  • System Requirements: Defining functional and non-functional requirements for the system and its components, and managing them using a specialized tool
  • System Architecture: Design of the architecture and interfaces for ADAS functions—that is, how the individual components of the system communicate with each other (knowledge of UML or similar modeling languages)
  • Sensors: Workingwith Sensors and Their Limitations—Radar, Camera, LiDAR, Ultrasound—and Defining How to Build a Reliable Function from Their Data
  • Integration and Testing: Coordination of integration, simulation, and data analysis (MATLAB/Simulink, CANoe, CANalyzer, CarMaker)
  • Standards and Safety: Development Management According to the V-Model, ASPICE, and ISO 26262 (Functional Safety)

Where will you be:

  • The primary location is Kopřivnice—right at the customer's site (Tatra)
  • However, the job can also be done on a hybrid or remote basis, with occasional trips to Kopřivnice and to our headquarters in Jablonec nad Nisou
  • We'll fine-tune the specific plan based on what works best for you

What you need to know:

  • Experience with the development or integration of driver-assistance features —such as adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, or lane-keeping assist
  • Systems Engineering: Knowledge of the V-Model and Defining Functional and Non-Functional Requirements
  • An Overview of Sensors in the Automotive Industry—How Radar, Cameras, LiDAR, and Ultrasound Work and What Their Limitations Are
  • ISO 26262 and ASPICE
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, cybernetics, software engineering, or a related field
  • A Class B driver's license and a desire to actively test

No one knows everything right away. For many tools (specific modeling and simulation software, CAN/CAN-FD/Automotive Ethernet/FlexRay buses), all you need is a basic understanding and a willingness to learn more.
