Business Unit Manager

Do you want to help shape the direction of an entire development unit, not just a single project? Do you want to contribute to the company’s growth in a role that has a real strategic impact? We’re looking for someone who will serve as a reliable technical partner for our clients, coordinate technical projects, and lead our branch in the Kopřivnice area. This isn’t about taking over an existing structure. It’s a newly emerging business unit and branch that you’ll help build from the ground up. You may know us as the company that helped develop the hydrogen-powered TATRA. Now we need someone to take our projects to the next level.

What specifically will you be dealing with:

  • Managing the business unit: That’s your main role. You set the direction, monitor results, and are responsible for ensuring that everything runs smoothly—projects, people, and capacity.
  • Customers and Technical Matters: You serve as the primary point of contact and communication channel for customers. You address key technical issues and build trust on both sides.
  • Projects in Context: You don’t just manage a single project—you manage the whole picture. You provide structure, establish connections, and ensure that things are actually moving forward.
  • Building a branch: You're putting together a technical team and providing them with the necessary resources.
  • Future Direction: You decide where the BU should go next. What makes sense to develop further, and what to leave as is.
  • Team Collaboration: You determine how teams across the company (MB / Jablonec / Kopřivnice) work together to ensure everything runs smoothly.

What you need:

Must-have:
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in a technical environment (ideally in development, projects, or the automotive industry).
  • A technical education and background in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering. You won't get by without it.
  • Experience of actually being responsible for something (a project, a team, an area).
  • Fluent in both Czech and English for everyday communication with customers.
  • The ability to see things through, even when conditions aren't ideal.
Advantage:
  • Experience in launching a team or project from scratch.
  • Extends to simulations, testing, or system development.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry.

Why choose us:

  • You will have a direct impact on the operations of the entire business unit.
  • A combination of leadership, technology, and customer communication.
  • No corporate red tape. You'll need to make quick decisions.
  • The freedom to tailor things to your own preferences (processes, collaboration, direction).
